SEOUL, Aug. 13 (Korea Bizwire) —  Samsung Electronics Co. announced Wednesday a strategic partnership with KT Corp.’s entertainment subsidiary, KT Studio Genie, aimed at enhancing its free, ad-supported streaming platform, Samsung TV Plus, on smart televisions.

The collaboration will see KT Studio Genie’s content integrated into Samsung TV Plus, broadening the platform’s programming slate with popular Korean titles such as the thriller Lies Hidden in My Garden, the comedy New Recruit, and the romantic drama Dear Hyeri. Select “Genie TV Originals” will also be made available to international audiences, extending their reach beyond South Korea.

“Our partnership with KT Studio Genie reflects Samsung TV Plus’s ongoing commitment to delivering exceptional content and new viewing formats to global audiences,” said Kim Yong-su, executive vice president of Samsung’s visual display business. “We are proud to help bring the richness of Korean storytelling to more viewers worldwide—free, easy to access, and ready to stream.”

Samsung TV Plus currently operates in approximately 30 countries, offering around 3,500 channels and 66,000 video-on-demand titles. This partnership underscores Samsung’s efforts to strengthen its streaming ecosystem amid intensifying competition in the global over-the-top (OTT) market.
