SEOUL, Oct. 1 (Korea Bizwire) — Naver announced Wednesday that it has entered into a strategic partnership with Uber Taxi, allowing its Naver Plus membership users to access Uber’s premium subscription service, Uber One, at no extra charge.
Uber One, which Uber recently launched in Korea, offers benefits such as priority driver dispatch, cashback credits worth up to 10 percent of ride fares, and promotional ride discounts of up to 10,000 won. Members can accumulate Uber One credits with no cap and use them on subsequent trips.
Under the deal, Naver Plus members can activate Uber One via the Uber app with a one-time registration and enjoy a year of subscription-only perks seamlessly integrated with their existing membership.
The collaboration with Uber follows Naver’s ongoing strategy of enhancing loyalty among its membership base by expanding lifestyle partnerships. Users already enjoy similar benefits through tie-ups with Netflix and grocery platform Kurly.
“Naver has consistently worked to deliver user-centered perks that bridge online and offline experiences,” said Jung Hanna, head of Naver Membership. “This partnership with Uber Taxi is another step in broadening our portfolio of big-brand collaborations and increasing the everyday value of Naver Plus for our members.”
