SEOUL, Dec. 26 (Korea Bizwire) — Samsung Electronics is using the run-up to CES 2026 to frame its next generation of products as the culmination of more than five decades of innovation in televisions and home appliances, signaling a renewed push to position artificial intelligence at the center of everyday life.
On Thursday, the company released a teaser video ahead of its annual global press conference, “The First Look 2026,” set to take place in Las Vegas on January 4, two days before the opening of the CES technology show. The event, which introduces Samsung’s vision and flagship products for the year ahead, will carry the theme “Your AI Companion for Everyday Life.”
It is the first time Samsung has produced a CES teaser that explicitly traces its product history. The video highlights early milestones such as an air conditioner equipped with a microcomputer chip in 1980, a multifunction microwave oven with a built-in display in 1982, and a “talking” refrigerator introduced in 1985—devices that the company portrays as precursors to today’s AI-enabled appliances.
Samsung said those early experiments laid the groundwork for its current lineup of Bespoke AI home appliances, which aim to deliver personalized experiences by learning users’ habits and preferences. The company described its AI-powered devices as approaching “another turning point,” promising to unveil new technologies at CES that more deeply understand daily routines and significantly enhance quality of life.
During the show, Samsung plans to showcase its Micro RGB television technology and host a series of technology forums and side events, underscoring its broader ambition to integrate AI across consumer electronics.
With CES 2026 approaching, the teaser suggests that Samsung intends to present its AI strategy not as a break from the past, but as the latest chapter in a long-running effort to redefine how people interact with technology at home.
