SEOUL,  Jan. 2 (Korea Bizwire) — Samsung Electronics is set to unveil a new AI-powered portable projector ahead of the opening of CES 2026, underscoring its push to embed artificial intelligence more deeply into consumer devices.

The company said Friday that it will introduce the updated “The Freestyle+” at its annual “The First Look” event on Jan. 4 in Las Vegas, just days before the world’s largest consumer electronics show begins.

The device builds on Samsung’s earlier portable projector line, adding a suite of AI-driven features designed to improve image quality and ease of use across a wide range of environments.

The Freestyle+ uses artificial intelligence to project images not only onto flat walls and ceilings but also onto corners, curtains and other uneven surfaces. Its “3D Auto Keystone” function automatically corrects distortion in real time, delivering a near-rectangular image even when the projection surface is irregular. Another feature, “Wall Calibration,” analyzes wall colors and patterns and adjusts the image to minimize visual interference.

Additional AI functions include real-time focus correction to reduce blur and noise when the projector’s angle changes, as well as a “Screen Fit” feature that automatically adjusts the image’s position, size and angle to match a designated screen area. The new model also doubles brightness to 430 ISO lumens compared with its predecessor, improving visibility under indirect lighting.

Samsung has integrated its unified AI platform, Vision AI Companion, into the device. The platform, already used in Samsung TVs and monitors, allows access to multiple AI agents — including Bixby, Copilot and Perplexity — enabling users to receive recommendations and information ranging from movie suggestions to sports results.

The launch comes as Samsung Electronics seeks to showcase practical applications of AI at CES 2026, positioning everyday devices as more adaptive, personalized and context-aware.
