SEOUL, March 8 (Korea Bizwire) – LG Electronics Inc. said Tuesday it will start selling its new budget smartphone that comes with a price tag of around US$300, the latest in a series of budget smartphone models.
The LG Stylus 2, scheduled to go on sales this week in South Korea, was first showcased at the Mobile World Congress in Spain last month. The 5.7-inch smartphone weighs only 145 grams and is 7.4 millimeters thick.
The local factory price of the device stands at 396,000 won (US$329). The smartphone will also start sales in major countries, including those in North America and Europe this month.
The company said the smartphone will come with a pen that has a cloth tip for an almost natural writing experience, along with convenient menus and note-related options.
Another significant feature is an alarm that notifies users when the pen is a certain distance from the smartphone, making sure users don’t lose their writing tool.
The LG Stylus 2 boasts a 13-megapixel camera on the back and an 8-megapixel one on the front. The replaceable battery has a capacity of 3,000 mAh.’
