GWANGMYEONG, Aug. 1 (Korea Bizwire) – Gwangmyeong Cave, located in the southwest of Seoul, used to be a storage facility for pickled shrimp, and before that, a gold mine. But recently, it was transformed into a multi-attraction wine tunnel following its purchase by the city of Gwangmyeong in 2011.
The 2.2-kilometer tunnel has since become a popular tourist spot, hosting various events from light shows and cultural arts performances to ghost experiences. Most popular, however, is the wine café, located towards the back of the cave, where wines from various parts of Korea are on display for visitors to enjoy.
The cave is open every day from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., charging 4,000 won for adults and 1,500 won for children.
