SEOUL, March 29 (Korea Bizwire) – A leading German car magazine has recently judged Hyundai Motor Co.’s i20 hatchback as the best car in its class beating rivals in comfort, performance and interior space.
‘Auto Zeitung,’ one of Germany’s most respected motoring magazines, compared the Hyundai i20 to four of its 1.0-liter turbo-charged competitors — the Ford Fiesta, Opel Corsa, Seat Ibiza and VW Polo, according to an issue published on March 26.
“It says a great deal to have one of Germany’s leading auto magazines judge the Hyundai i20 as the best of this particular group, when two of the alternatives are from German brands — VW and Opel,” Hyundai’s head of Operations for Africa and the Middle East, Mike Song, said in a statement.
The Hyundai i20 has received a strong response from European auto experts and it topped others in a zero to 100 kph acceleration test, taking less than 10 seconds, the magazine said.
Previous group tests also placed the i20 ahead of equivalent models from the extremely competitive B-segment in Europe where small, fuel-efficient cars are preferred by customers, it said.
