SEOUL, April 6 (Korea Bizwire) – The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced yesterday the launch of a new service which will help economically disadvantaged and injured foreign workers with legal problems.
On-site lawyers at the Southwest Global Center located in Yeongdeungpo District will offer free legal advice , and in some cases, help with lawsuits.
Last month, the family of a Korean-Chinese worker who died on the job received help from a lawyer at the Southwest Seoul Global Center with a lawsuit.
With the help, the family was able to receive bereaved family benefits, funeral expenses and consolation money from the company the Korean-Chinese worker was working for.
Another man from Pakistan who asked for anonymity has filed a lawsuit against his company with the aid of the Southwest Seoul Global Center.
Legal advice is also available in multiple languages on Sundays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. for those who are too busy to visit the center during the week.

Other free services include a traditional Korean paper art (hanji) class for immigrants living in South Korea, which is currently taking applicants until next Tuesday.
