SEOUL, Oct. 20 (Korea Bizwire) — French carmaker Renault S.A. has named a finance expert as the chief executive of its South Korean operations, the caremaker said Friday.
Renault Samsung Motors Corp.’s current CEO Park Dong-hoon will step down on Oct. 31 for “personal reasons,” and Dominique Edmond Pierre Signora will take the helm at the carmaker from Nov. 1, a corporate spokesman said by phone.
The new CEO joined Renault in 1991 and has mainly served in the carmaker’s finance division, Renault Samsung said in a statement. Renault owns 80 percent of Renault Samsung.
In the January-September period, Renault Samsung sold a total of 204,840 vehicles, up 20 percent from a year earlier, helped by robust sales of the SM6 midsize sedan and the QM6 SUV.
