SEOUL, Jan. 17 (Korea Bizwire) – The majority of South Korean adults would like to spend ‘me time’ at home during the upcoming Lunar New Year holidays.
JobKorea, a local job search portal, jointly with Albamon, a recruitment website for part-timers, conducted a survey of 3,390 male and female adults over 20 years of age, 59.1 percent of whom said they want to spend time alone for the upcoming holiday.
Roughly 50 percent of job seekers, in particular, responded that they’re planning not to participate in family events this year, 31.1 percent of whom said they have to work.
Others said they feel uncomfortable and stressed to meet with people (30 percent), or that they have to work on job applications (29.1 percent).
In addition, 34.1 percent of all respondents said they are particularly stressed out during the holidays, worse than during school, work, or job seeking activities.
Asking about future plans was voted the worst question from families and friends during the holidays.
The survey also revealed that 39.8 percent of all job seekers said they do not want to be asked about when they will get a job.
Another 38.5 percent of all employees chose asking about marriage and childbirth as the worst question asked by families and friends on holidays.
