SEOUL, May 27 (Korea Bizwire) – The Central Election Management Committee has developed an application that lets voters know where the nearest voting place is, for the upcoming local elections in Korea which will be held on June 4.
The “Election Info” app shows the whereabouts of the nearest polling stations using the location-based service, and provides directions to them by interworking with the navigation app.
The application also provides anticipated waiting time of each poll station, so that the user can avoid standing in a long line to cast her vote.
Not only it plays a useful role as a navigator, it also serves as a pamphlet or a wallpaper for the elections as it displays various information on each of the candidates (ballot number, name, educational background, career, military service experience, tax history, criminal records, and so on) and individual platforms for the elections.
On the very day of the elections, the voter turnout for each district, voting count for each candidates and various information on the winners can be checked out with the application as well.
The application is free of charge and is available in app stores such as Google Play Store and Apple App Store and also on the official website of the Election Committee.
