SEOUL, Nov. 9 (Korea Bizwire) — BC Card, Korea’s major credit card company, said on November 7 that it has launched a new mobile app called “Wanzhuan Hanguo” (meaning “smart Korea” in Chinese) for Chinese tourists visiting Korea. The app provides useful information for the tourists including Chinese-language maps and GPS services, tourism information, and KT phone rental.
In order to make it easier for the visitors to shop anywhere, the app offers real-time information on subway stations and airport bus arrival time. In addition, it provides information on items available for purchase online, concert ticket reservation, and discount coupon issuing for participating merchants. The app will be equipped with the sales tax refund feature from January next year.
A BC Card official said, “We came up with an idea of developing the app to create more pleasant travel environment for Chinese visitors to Korea while allowing our merchants to raise more sales from the tourists. We will try to expand the merchant network that Chinese tourists frequent while creating a separate online website for Chinese tourists only.”
