SEOUL, Mar. 8 (Korea Bizwire)Seungri of South Korean boy band BIGBANG will join the army late this month to carry out his mandatory military service, his agency said Friday.

“Seungri will enlist in the army on March 25,” YG Entertainment said.

The 29-year-old singer is currently subject to a police probe into allegations including drug use and the provision of sex services to foreign investors, which he has strongly denied in earlier investigations.

The singer canceled his solo concerts originally set for March 9-10 in Osaka and March 17 in Jakarta due to the scandal.

All other members of the popular boy group are now serving their military duty.

Able-bodied South Korean men are required to serve in the military as the country is technically at war with North Korea.
