SEOUL, July 23 (Korea Bizwire) — Cheil Worldwide, in collaboration with the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), has unveiled a striking environmental campaign titled the “Trash Fashion Show” to raise awareness about the devastating effects of plastic pollution on wildlife.
The campaign features AI-generated visuals resembling high-fashion runway shoots, depicting animals entangled in human waste—such as a turtle with a plastic straw lodged in its nose, a seal ensnared in discarded fishing nets, and an elephant with its face wrapped in plastic. Each image is accompanied by the message: “Please stop plastic waste.”

This campaign is an environmental protection project that portrays animals entangled in human-discarded waste as if they were models on a fashion show runway. It was designed to raise public awareness and encourage participation in addressing the issue of plastic waste. (Image supported by ChatGPT)
Remarkably, the visuals were created entirely with generative AI tools, without live-action shoots or staged imagery. “We aimed to render each detail—from the texture of the animals’ fur to the sheen of the plastic—with as much realism as possible using AI,” said a representative from Cheil Worldwide.
To maximize impact, the campaign will roll out on large-scale outdoor billboards and across Cheil’s social media channels.
Minhye Park, Secretary General of WWF Korea, emphasized the urgency of public engagement ahead of the upcoming UN intergovernmental negotiations on the Global Plastics Treaty, to be held in Switzerland next month. “We hope this campaign prompts greater awareness and participation in the fight against plastic pollution,” she said.
