SEOUL, June 24 (Korea Bizwire) — Clothing care appliances rank at the top on the list of household appliances Korean consumers most desire, a survey showed Tuesday.
Market analysis firm Open Survey revealed the results of an online survey it conducted with the participation of 1,000 Korean consumers aged from 20 to 59 between June 5 and 9.
The survey showed that the largest number of respondents (16.6 percent) picked clothing care appliances as the most desirable home and health appliance they’d like to use in the future.
Following clothing care appliances were massage chairs (12.5 percent), clothes dryers (11.6 percent), food waste disposers (6.8 percent) and air purifiers (5.6 percent).
Among home and health appliances, dehumidifiers were given the highest satisfaction rating, earning 4.27 points on a five-point scale.
Following dehumidifiers were clothes dryers (4.22), coffee machines (4.17), water purifiers (4.15), air conditioners (4.14) and oral irrigators (4.13).
Online shopping malls were ranked as the most popular channel for purchasing home & health appliances.
At 54.4 percent, more than half of the respondents said that they purchase home & health appliances through online shopping malls, followed by offline electronics stores (22.4 percent), large retail outlets (7.9 percent), TV home shopping programs (5.7 percent) and department stores (3.8 percent).
The respondents picked the performance of home & health appliances as the most important factor in their buying decision, followed by price (19.6 percent), brand (13.7 percent), convenience (9.5 percent), safety (5.1 percent) and durability and discount promotion (4.4 percent).
