DAEJEON, Sept. 29 (Korea Bizwire) — The Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI) said Wednesday it had developed a smart barn platform to help ensure effective livestock control and management.
The newly-developed platform, dubbed TRIPLETS, can prevent disease by analyzing animal behavior 24 hours a day, while ensuring effective livestock management.
The research team established a virtual barn in a digital space using real-time information on livestock, their environment and energy.
In the digital space, the research team simulated the control and operation of a barn and environmental changes, including the breeding density.
Reflecting the simulation results in actual barns, productivity is expected to increase through the optimization of living conditions.
The research team expects the platform to contribute to enhancing productivity by more than 10 percent.
The research team also developed a surveillance system to identify any change in the level of livestock stress and immunity using artificial intelligence (AI) technology and biosensors, as well as a smart barn system that makes use of an air recirculation system.
