Foreign Patients Report Satisfaction with S. Korean Medical Service: Poll

SEOUL, Mar. 6 (Korea Bizwire)Foreigners visiting South Korea for medical treatment are largely satisfied with the service they received, a poll showed Wednesday.

Foreign patients gave an average rating of 90.5 points for the service received in 2018, with numbers generally climbing over the years, the Ministry of Health and Welfare.

Last year’s score was the same as 2017, but higher than 90.3 tallied in 2016, and 88 in 2012.

Patients from Russia gave South Korean medical service the highest rating at 94.4, followed by those from the United States at 91.8 and China at 90.1, the latest findings showed.

Patients spent an average of US$14,029 while in the country during their stay, with those from the Middle East spending the most at an average of $44,169, the survey showed.

The survey was conducted on 1,200 nationals from various countries, such as Russia, China, the United Sates, and Japan.
