SEOUL, Korea, Dec 16 (Korea Bizwire) – Hanwha Group has set out to promote the advantage of solar power to the general public. The group companies like Hanwha Q-Cells Korea, Hanwha 63 City, and Hanwha Environmental Research Institute, in partnership with civil society organizations, opened a class teaching how to install small-scale photovoltaic panels as well as the scientific principles behind solar power generation.

On December 14, a score of students sat in for a lecture delivered by Kim Irhwan, president of the Good Energy Institute, held at the 63 Building in Seoul’s Yoido.

Mr. Kim said, “You can install a solar panel in such a small space as the terrace in your apartment unit. One solar panel can generate energy capable of running the refrigerator for one full month, savings of about 20,000 won.”

The “Happy Sunshine” class will be held in two Saturdays, on December 14 and 21. Hanwha Group and the Korean Federation for Environmental Movement will open the same class every six months and give out certificates for those who completed the two-day class.

The mini-photovoltaic panel that the group is promoting through the free-of-charge class is a 250-watt module with a dimension of 160 and 100 centimeters in length and width. The module can be installed easily like an external unit of an air-conditioner in the apartment’s terrace and connected to an electric plug inside the home.

The electricity thus generated will be distributed automatically to electric appliances, with easy disassembly and reinstallation at the time of moving.
