SEOUL, June 19 (Korea Bizwire) — HD Hyundai Construction Equipment Co. said Thursday it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Indonesia’s Hasnur Group as part of efforts to strengthen its presence in the rapidly growing Indonesian mining market.
Under the partnership, the two sides plan to cooperate in areas of mining equipment supply, total mining solutions development, electric excavator field testing and the establishment of site management systems.
Hasnur Group will operate equipment supplied by HD Hyundai Construction Equipment and share operational data to help co-develop optimized solutions aimed at improving equipment efficiency.
HD Hyundai Construction Equipment will supply large wheel loaders and plans to gradually expand its offerings of mining equipment based on accumulated on-site data.
The South Korean company will also develop comprehensive mining solutions that encompass equipment supply, maintenance and site management systems tailored to the needs of Hasnur Group’s sites.
Indonesia holds the world’s largest reserves and production capacity of nickel, along with abundant deposits of tin and cobalt, considered critical minerals for future industries.
“This deal marks a turning point for building our capabilities in mining site operation solutions in one of the world’s most important resource markets,” said Choi Cheol-gon, chief executive officer (CEO) of HD Hyundai Construction Equipment.
