JEJU, Korea, Dec 26 (Korea Bizwire) – Hello Kitty Island, the globally popular character Hello Kitty-themed playground in Jeju’s Seoguipo, held the “World’s Happiness Christmas” event on December 24. The charity event was intended to entertain the 15 children from a nearby village of Ahndeok who arrived at the playground in a bus, attended an art class drawing Hello Kitty faces, and made a wish on a magic fountain.
In addition, they participated in a quiz show in which winners won prizes. Comedian Yoon Taek, who was invited to play a Santa Claus, gave out gifts to the children. Kim Jong-seok, president of Jacob M&C, the company operating Hello Kitty Island, said, “The Christmas event at Hello Kitty Island was planned as part of our corporate social responsibility activity. With this event as momentum, we will step up our effort to develop more community programs.”
Hello Kitty Island, built in a four-story building in the southern tip of Jeju Island, is a newly opened space for families with children offering a variety of fun programs, a 3D animation theater, and a Hello Kitty House.
