Hong Kong, April 13, 2014 (Korea Bizwire) – More than 3,300 exhibitors from 25 countries and regions are in Hong Kong for the 11th HKTDC Hong Kong Electronics Fair (Spring Edition) and the 11th HKTDC International ICT Expo, which opened today and continue through 16 April at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC).

The twin fairs are presenting a wide range of products and services in the electronics and ICT industries.

- 3D Printing, Wearable Electronics

The Electronics Fair welcomes some 2,760 exhibitors from 23 countries and regions, including newcomers from Brazil, France, Indonesia, Portugal and Thailand.

Highlights of the Hong Kong Electronics Fair, Asia’s largest spring electronics show, include two new zones: i-World and 3D Printing. They offer the latest 3D printers and smart devices and accessories, including wearable electronics items, as well as audio-visual, healthcare and eco-friendly products.

- Hall of Fame

The fair’s Hall of Fame returns with over 500 leading brands, from such newcomers as Bigben, Ford and Intel, to returning brands Coway, Haier, Otic, Polaroid and Telefunken.

Also back is the Invention Zone, featuring intellectual-property-registered products or registration-pending products from Hong Kong, the Chinese mainland, Korea and Taiwan.

- Industry Seminars

The fair’s seminar series features developments and trends in LED performance (13 April), 3D printing (13 April), wearable electronics (14 April), China’s tech ecosystem, by Intel (14 April), the product carbon footprint, by the HKEIA (15 April), the Internet of things, by the FHKI (15 April), and testing and certification services in Hong Kong (16 April).

- Small Orders, Big Business

The Small-Order Zone is back with some 400 showcases on display, offering some 4,000 products. They’re available in minimum orders ranging from five pieces to 1,000. The Small-Order Zone is also online, at www.hktdc.com/so, with instant payment via PayPal and shipping arrangements available for select products.

- ICT Highlights

More than 600 exhibitors from 13 countries and regions are on hand at ICT Expo, including new exhibitors from Korea, Malaysia, Russia, Singapore and the United Kingdom.

Eight pavilions are doing business at the expo, spotlighting the latest offerings from Australia, Canada, the mainland, India, Korea, New Zealand, Russia and Taiwan.

- Zoning in on Business

This year’s ICT Expo offers two new zones: the Telecom, Network & Data Centre, and Mobile & Digital Marketing, with such exhibitors as Hutchison Global Communications Ltd, Google and SINA Hong Kong Ltd taking part.

Returning are the Apps zone, presenting the latest mobile applications from industry experts and academia, and the SME IT Clinic, which offers free IT consultancy services. Other theme zones include Enterprise Solutions & IT Outsourcing, E-Logistics & Retail Technologies, and Business Apps on Cloud & Mobile.

- Sina Weibo, Google Sessions

The expo features a wide variety of forums, conferences and seminars. They spotlight such topical industry issues as open data and app development (13 April), e-payment via social networks and mobile devices (14 April), copyright in the cloud era (14 April), retail innovation (15 April), and data-centre solutions and technology (15 April). In addition, Google and Sina Weibo have organised seminars on digital marketing tools for expanding overseas (14 April) and mainland markets (14 April) respectively.

- International IT Fest

ICT Expo is one of 38 ICT events taking place, 7-20 April, in Hong Kong under the International IT Fest umbrella. The festival is organised by the Office of the Government Chief Information Officer (OGCIO) in collaboration with the local ICT industry. The OGCIO features an ICT Award Pavilion at ICT Expo, presenting the winners of the Hong Kong ICT Awards 2014, as well as a daily Open Forum.
