SEOUL, June 30 (Korea Bizwire) — Hyundai Elevator Co., South Korea’s leading elevator maker, has teamed up with telecom giant KT Corp. to promote the digital transformation (DX) of elevators.
After signing a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on Tuesday, the two parties announced that they will promote new ventures by integrating elevators with artificial intelligence (AI), voice recognition and self-driving robots through a mutual exchange of technology.
Under terms of the MOU, Hyundai Elevator will develop an elevator open application program interface (API) that can be grafted with various application programs by September.
In addition, the company will promote the expansion of elevator DX at apartments, hotels and buildings by leveraging KT’s voice recognition and robot technology.
On the basis of face recognition technology, Hyundai Elevator also plans to develop a customized personal elevator that enables the adjustment of lighting and provision of music and other content depending on user preferences.
