SEOUL, April 24 (Korea Bizwire) – Hyundai Mobis Co., South Korea’s biggest auto parts maker, said Tuesday it has developed an advanced suspension system that helps reduce the body lean of cars during cornering.
The company said five years of work went into its electrical Active Roll Stabilization (eARS), which not only improves handling on turns but also enhances overall ride comfort.
“Compared to rival systems, the overall size of eARS is 5 percent more compact, while tests showed its ability to control the car is 40 percent better than rivals,” the company said in a statement.
Besides keeping the car stable, the new suspension can help cars absorb bumps on the road and is designed to be used on eco-friendly vehicles.
“Such stabilization technology is usually seen on premium vehicles, but Hyundai Mobis has developed the eARS system for mass-produced vehicles,” a company spokesman said.
