SEOUL, Dec. 9 (Korea Bizwire) – On Thursday, Hyundai Motor Group proudly announced its achievement of securing four top accolades in the 2024 Best Buy Awards by Kelley Blue Book, a prominent U.S. automotive publication.

The Hyundai Ioniq 5 was acknowledged as the premier electric vehicle (EV), the Hyundai Kona claimed the title of best compact sport utility vehicle (SUV), the Kia EV9 earned recognition as the finest three-row EV, and the Kia Telluride was honored as the top three-row midsize SUV.

Kelley Blue Book, renowned as a trusted resource for U.S. car shoppers, meticulously evaluated vehicle performance, encompassing aspects such as quality, safety, and drivability, along with vehicle-related costs, to determine the best cars in each category for the 2024 model year.

For the second consecutive year, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 secured the title of best electric car, commended for its forward-looking design, spacious interior, and impressive range.

The Kia Telluride achieved recognition in the three-row midsize SUV category for the fifth consecutive year, maintaining its status as the best new car since the 2020 Best Buy Awards.

The Hyundai Kona garnered praise for its striking design and a plethora of high-tech amenities, while the Kia EV9 received accolades for its outstanding driving performance and spacious interior.

Highlighting further success, Hyundai Motor Group disclosed that six of its vehicles secured positions in the top 10 of the electric vehicle charging speed test conducted by Edmunds, a reputable American automotive website.

Edmunds tested 43 electric vehicles available in the U.S., assessing the time required to gain an additional 100 miles of driving range through a quick-charge system.

The Hyundai Ioniq 6 (2WD) emerged as the leader with the shortest charging time of 6 minutes and 54 seconds. Following closely, the Kia EV6 (RWD) claimed the second spot with a time of 7 minutes and 48 seconds, while the Ioniq 6 (AWD) secured the third position with a time of 7 minutes and 51 seconds. The EV6-GT lineup clinched the fifth spot with a time of 8 minutes and 51 seconds.

Additionally, the IONIQ 5 (AWD) secured the sixth position, and the Genesis G80 electrified model demonstrated its competitiveness by securing the eighth spot in the rankings.
