SEOUL, Nov. 4 (Korea Bizwire) — KT Corp., a South Korean telecom giant, announced on Tuesday that it will start a pilot project for a self-driving disinfection robot service at KidZania Seoul, a theme park where children role-play in a variety of jobs, during the period from Nov. 26-Dec. 4.
The service will be offered by KT’s self-driving disinfection robot ‘Campion’, which the company unveiled at its Gwanghwamun East building last month.
Based on advanced indoor self-driving technology, Campion sprays disinfecting solution, while radiating longwave UV light (UVA) and shortwave UV light (UVC).
The company controls Campion’s disinfection function and operational time through its integrated mobility platform ‘Mobility Makers.’
Company officials said that starting from the self-driving disinfection service, KT will strive to maintain its lead in industrial innovation, as well as to change people’s lives by applying its self-driving technology in a more useful manner.
