SEOUL, Sept. 24 (Korea Bizwire) — LG Display Co., a major display panel maker in South Korea, is holding a media art performance in Itaewon and Hapjeong, two of the most popular destinations in Seoul, using organic light-emitting diode (OLED) technology.
The so-called ‘Art on OLED’ is a collaboration project between local coffeehouse Anthracite Coffee and Park Hoon-gyu, a media artist.
Anthracite Coffee Hannam, located in Itaewon, set up a 9-meter-tall digital art wall that connects seven 55-inch transparent OLED screens.
Customers can enjoy the newest display technology as well as the media artwork from both inside and outside the cafe.
It is the first time that transparent OLED screens have been used for media art.
Anthracite Hapjeong plans to set up five 55-inch OLED screens for a separate art exhibition that is expected to run from September to March.
