SEOUL, June 9 (Korea Bizwire) — Austrian automotive light maker ZKW Group, a subsidiary of South Koran tech giant LG Electronics Inc., said Thursday it will begin supplying smart headlamp modules for the flagship Polestar 3 SUV of Swedish premium electric vehicle brand Polestar.
Scheduled for release in the third quarter, the headlamp incorporates the mirrorZ technology, enabling precise and seamless control of the LED lights.
Comprised of 1.3-megapixel micromirror elements, the headlamp automatically adjusts the brightness and angle, taking into account not only the car’s speed but also external factors such as weather conditions.
Micromirror technology enhances the accuracy of laser beams utilized for automotive lighting.
Furthermore, the headlamp can detect approaching vehicles through its frontal camera, automatically adjusting its brightness to prevent glare for oncoming drivers.
ZKW has been a supplier of premium LED headlights for the Polestar 2, which is Polestar’s first fully electric model.
