SEOUL, May 15 (Korea Bizwire) – LG UPlus announced that it won the Global Telecoms Business (GTB) Innovation Award in the wireless network infrastructure innovation category by its LTE-A technology utilizing 3-band carrier aggregation (CA) and small cell technology.
The global communications and IT business magazine Global Telecoms Business is giving the awards to communications and other related industry companies which show most innovative results during the year in five categories of wireless network infrastructure, fixed network infrastructure, wholesale service, business service and consumer service.
With its innovative technologies like the world’s first LTE nationwide network and VoLTE, LG UPlus leads the LTE market in the world. With the recognition of its leading technology development of LTE-A, it also garnered the award.
LG UPlus showed off the 3-band CA technology for the first time in the world last February. The technology integrates three LTE bands to offer LTE services at a speed six times faster than before.
