HONGSEONG, July 10 (Korea Bizwire) — The Boryeong Underground Tunnel, the longest undersea tunnel in Korea, now features landscape lighting showcasing local tourism resources. A lighting ceremony will be held after completing lighting improvements along six sections of the tunnel. The tunnel, connecting Boryeong Daecheon Port and Wonsan Island, was initially expected to be a tourism hub but lacked distinct features.
The newly installed landscape lighting, designed by experts and inspired by local marine tourism, aims to highlight the tunnel’s uniqueness and ensure driver safety. The ceremony will be attended by key figures and local residents, celebrating the vibrant light festival and enhancing the tunnel’s appeal as a tourist attraction.
