Monument Built to Mark Starting Point of 622-kilometer Ultra Marathon

HAENAM, Jul. 9 (Korea Bizwire)A monument has been built in Ttangkkeut Village at Haenam County, South Jeolla Province to mark the starting point of an ultra marathon which began last Sunday.

Haenam County said that the Korea Ultra Marathon Federation and others held an unveiling ceremony of the monument at the village’s Ttangkkeut Hope Park last Saturday.

Haenam County and the Korea Ultra Marathon Federation installed the monument to mark the starting point of a marathon where participants will run 622 kilometers across the country.

Starting at Ttangkkeut Village, participants will run for 150 hours to reach South Korea’s northernmost tip at the Unification Observatory in Goseong County, Gangwon Province.
