FRANCE, Feb 1, 2014 (Korea Bizwire) – Mountain Planet, a professional trade show for players dealing with the mountain industry, will be held for three days between April 23 and 25 at Grenoble in southeastern France at the foot of the French Alps. The biennial exhibition, organized by Alpexpo has been held since 1974, is sponsored by several public and private entities in the region including the National Association of Mayors of Mountain Resorts, Ski Areas of France, the Government of Rhône-Alpes, the Department of Isere, and the City Government of Grenoble.
In the last exposition held in a 42,000-square-meter site in 2012, as many as 750 exhibitors participated with 16,000 visitors. Major global companies in ski lift and cable car installation such as Poma, Leitner, and Doppelmayr were exhibitors in the 2012 event. Better known as SAM (Salon de l’Amenagement en Montagne) until recently, the event organizers have changed the name to “Mountain Planet” from this year and designated Korea as the main guest country as it will host the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics.
Exhibitors from Korea will be given a privilege to visit ski lift and cable car manufacturing firms in France, with special exemption in booth registration fees.
