SEOUL, Aug. 2 (Korea Bizwire) — Naver Corp., South Korea’s top internet portal operator, announced that it will introduce an ‘AI Review Summary’ function to make it easier for online shoppers to read others’ product reviews.
The new function will use the company’s hyperscale artificial intelligence (AI) platform HyperCLOVA to analyze the tons of product reviews posted on its smart store and simplify product features into a single sentence for each review.
Instead of taking pains to read numerous long reviews, online shoppers will be able to get a full glimpse of the products simply by reading the summary.
The AI Review Summary analyzes the main keywords mentioned in the reviews and classifies them by theme. It filters out substandard sentences including ones that are excessively short or repeat words without meaning.
After clustering the sentences with similar expressions in terms of meaning, it uses HyperCLOVA to create a single natural-looking summary.
The representative review that is created during this process is summarized in the manner of highlighting what many users mentioned.
Finally, the simplified summaries will go through the processes of proofreading through automatic modules, including an AI clean bot, correcting sentences and comparing content.
The AI Review Summary will be applied first for about 4.4 million products listed in Naver’s ‘Furniture & Interior’ category and the scope of its application will expand on a gradual basis.
