Seoul, July 28 (Korea Bizwire) – After Hallyu Star Bae Yong-joon and Park Soo-jin got married on July 27, weddings of other top stars are attracting media attention again.
The wedding that created the most buzz recently was Won Bin and Lee Na-young’s. Everyone was surprised when the two got hitched on a path going through a field of wheat at Jungsun, Gangwon province, on May 30, without any announcement. None of their fellow actors or celebrities were invited, as the wedding was small with only family, close relatives and people from their management attending. The story that the bride and groom shared noodles boiled in a big pot with the guests was met with surprise from the public once again.
Top singer Lee Hyo-ri also attracted attention when she had a very simple wedding with guitarist Lee Sang-soon in September 2013. The famous singer got married at a villa on Jeju Island wearing a plain wedding dress. Guests were limited to family and close friends.
But most of the top stars usually get married at five star hotels.
The Korean ‘Branjelina’ couple, Jang Dong-gun and Ko So-young, became man and wife at Hotel Shilla. Over 500 guests, including many celebrities such as Lee Byung-hun, Jung Woo-sung, Kwon Sang-woo, Son Tae-yong and Kim Nam-gil took part in the festivities. The flowers for the wedding were arranged by Lee Bu-jin, who was the executive director of Hotel Silla at the time, and also known to be close friends with Ko So-young.
Three years later, Lee Byung-hun married actress Lee Min-jung at the Grand Hyatt hotel in Namsan, in front of 900 guests. But the marriage was tainted when the groom, who promised a happy life to the bride, was caught in a blackmail scandal with two different women a year after their wedding.
Jisung and Lee Bo-young got married in September 2013. After a six-year relationship, the couple tied the knot at the Aston House of Walkerhill Hotel, the same place that Bae Yong-joon and Par Soo-jin chose for their wedding.
Many others have gotten married at this location. Actress Shin Eun-ha and Ji Sang-wook celebrated their joyous occasion in 2005, and in 2007 Kim Hee-sun married a businessman who was three years older.
On the day of Bae Yong-joon’s wedding, many fans from Japan were expected to flock to the venue. There were hundreds of Japanese fans at both Lee Byung-hun and Jang Dong-gun’s weddings, but since Bae Yong-joon was a bigger deal in Japan, even being called ‘Yonsama’, the number of fans was expected to be larger. Officials from Keyeast say that a large number of Japanese fans gathered in front of the management building as well as Walkerhill Hotel.
