Cheongwon, Korea, August 16 (Korea Bizwire) – The National Institute of Food and Drug Safety Evaluation (NIFDS) at the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) announced the release of the ‘Guidebook on the comparison of different responses to drugs for different races/people for the development of personalized medication.’ The guidebook was prepared to provide the public with information on the effects and possible side effects that can occur differently for each user to promote the safe use of medication.
The guidebook contains information including pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic differences for each genotype, genotype differences for race or people, permission status of certain drugs in the US, Europe, and Japan, and recent information included in Science Citation Index academic journals regarding a total of 162 types of drugs.
The NIFDS hopes that the information listed in the guidebook can help pharmaceutical companies, clinical researchers, doctors, and pharmacists with the personalized development and subscription of medication. More details can be found on the NIFDS website (www.nifds.go.kr).
