JEJU, South Korea, May 20 (Korea Bizwire) – South Korea and China opened a joint photo exhibition on this resort island Friday, showcasing some of the top natural and cultural attractions in both countries.

The exhibition, titled “Beautiful China, Beautiful South Korea,” was unveiled at the International Peace Center Jeju in an opening ceremony attended by government officials and dignitaries from the two sides.

It is co-hosted by the two governments and co-organized by South Korea’s key newswire service, Yonhap News Agency, and China’s monthly magazine, China Pictorial.

Among the attendees were Liu Qibao, head of the propaganda department of the Community Party of China, Chinese Ambassador to Seoul Qiu Guohong, Jeju Governor Won Hee-ryong and Yonhap News Agency President Park No-hwang.

On display are a total of 118 photos — 59 from each country — that show a wide range of scenery and cultural sites spread across the two nations. Aside from palaces, fortresses, temples and gardens, the exhibition also covers urban landscapes in Seoul, Shanghai and Beijing, and compares the two cultures through photos of their traditional cuisine, medicine, national costumes and martial arts.
