SEJONG, Aug. 24 (Korea Bizwire) – South Korea will hold a food fair in Malaysia later this week to promote its food products and capture the taste buds of the Islamic country, a ministry here said Wednesday.
The 2016 Malaysia Kuala Lumpur K-Food Fair will kick off on Thursday and run through Sunday, with 20 South Korean food and dairy firms to present their products, according to the Ministry Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs.
During the four-day event, South Korean firms will run booths exhibiting food products like kimchi, chicken soup, ginseng and various confectioneries and drinks.
There will be also consultation sessions for companies to have face-to-face meetings with 40 Malaysian buyers and retailers and make export deals, while local visitors will experience free tasting events and small K-pop concerts.
The fair is part of the ministry’s efforts to help the local food industry prop up exports to Asian countries including China.
It has held two such events in China so far, with the next event to take place in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam, in September.
