SEOUL, April 6 (Korea Bizwire) — Seongnam Art Center is presenting a Music Animation Machine, a new type of classical music performance, at its Ensemble Theater from April 22 to 25. The performance is composed of classical music performers and animated graphic patterns moving in accordance to the rhythm and dynamics of the performed music.
The movements of the graphic patterns are actually choreographed by humans handling the animation machine by interpreting performers’ breathing and the speed at which they play their instruments. Etienne Abelin and Huh Trio will be performing Haydn, Shostakovich, Mendelssohn and Piazzolla.
The music animation performance was first created by Stephen Malinowski, an American pianist and software engineer forty years ago.
