SEOUL, May 7 (Korea Bizwire) — The Seoul Metropolitan Government said Thursday that it plans to open up contactless, mobile facilities where families can meet their senior family members at nursing facilities that have banned visitors due to the coronavirus outbreak.
This new facility, set up at Seoul Dongbu Senior Care Center, is a 15-square-meter mobile wooden container in which the interior space has been decorated into a living room. It can be placed anywhere outside the center.
The facility has a glass partition that completely separates the seniors from visitors and blocks the risk of infection.
It also comes with an air conditioning system and a ventilation system, with carefully selected indoor items that can easily be sterilized.
Quarantine gloves have been prepared to allow visitors to hold hands with their senior family members.
In addition, a large-screen television has been set up to allow visitors to connect their smartphones and watch videos or photos together with their loved ones, or make video calls with those joining from afar.
