SEOUL, Aug. 26 (Korea Bizwire) – SK Group announced that if any of the soldiers who postponed their discharge from the military under tense political situations were to apply for a job at SK, they would hire them preferentially.
Officials at the conglomerate say that their chairman, Chey Tae-won, was very touched at the news that about 50 soldiers who were scheduled to finish their military service postponed their discharge date, and suggested that they be offered preferential treatment through a special hiring process.
Chairman Chey commented on the reason for the decision. “The spirit that the soldiers showed us will be a very important quality in the future, and also very important to economic development. Society and companies should evaluate those kind of values.”
