SEOUL, Feb. 27 (Korea Bizwire) — The Seoul Metropolitan Facilities Management Corporation has installed Internet of Things (IoT) systems at the Sogong Underground Shopping Center to protect visitors from various situations.
The corporation installed crime prevention systems at three women’s restrooms located inside the center.
The systems are comprised of an emergency call device that connects the user directly to a situation room at the touch of a button, as well as an emergency bell.
At the entrance, an automatic alarm system has been installed to detect any suspicious noise, such as shouts, that will trigger an alarm.
An emergency evacuation guidance system has been installed to detect smoke inside the center and inform the situation room, which will then inform visitors via a broadcasting system.
New equipment also includes a Smart Farm, an incubating system for plants with air purifying features, as well as a tracking device that measures the size of the floating population inside the center.
A Comprehensive Information System has also been installed for visitors, who can use it to search from the list of some 150 shops inside the shopping center, major convenience facilities, and tourist spots in the Myeongdong area.
The system offers service in four languages: Korean, English, Chinese, and Japanese.
