SEOUL, Feb. 15 (Korea Bizwire) – Ssangyong Motor Co., owned by India’s Mahindra & Mahindra, said Monday that the long-body version of the its popular Tivoli sport utility vehicle has been named the “Tivoli Air.”
The new model was named such in order to underscore its pursuit of becoming an essential element of life just as air is to human beings, the company said in a press release. The latest Tivoli model is to make an official debut in March, it added.
With the name of the new model, Ssangyong Motor unveiled some rendering images in which it tried to design the radiator grille based on minimalism and emphasize its dynamic and strong image with character lines that run from the front to the side.
The Tivoli has emerged as one of Ssangyong Motor’s most popular SUV models since its debut in January last year by appealing to younger customers with its unique design and affordability.
Ssangyong Motor sold nearly 64,000 units of the Tivoli at home and abroad last year, the best annual performance ever among its vehicle models. Its long-body version has also been expected to appeal to customers who want more luggage space without compromising the design of the Tivoli much.’
