ULSAN, May 25 (Korea Bizwire) — A suicide monitoring system consisting of 80 loudspeakers and 4 CCTV cameras has been installed at a new 8.38㎞ long bridge in Ulsan. The newly constructed Ulsan Bridge is scheduled to open on June 1, while the developer Ulsan Harbor Bridge started to operate its bridge control center concerning suicide prevention and other traffic issues on May 24.
Footage from the four CCTV cameras will be monitored 24 hours a day by the police, the main traffic center, the maritime police and fire stations in Ulsan, and monitoring agents will be able to speak directly to vulnerable individuals through the 80 speakers.
