ULSAN, April 14 (Korea Bizwire) – Three people in their thirties were given probation for taking drugs and causing a commotion in broad daylight at a campground.
A, who stood trial on Friday for violating the Narcotics Control Act, received a sentence of three years in prison and five years of probation.
B and C, the other two individuals involved, were sentenced to one year in prison and two years of probation, respectively.
The friends were accused of taking lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD) inside a tent at a campground in Ulsan last August.
After consuming the drug, they became disoriented and began screaming and slapping their own faces.
Witnesses reported seeing the shirtless and shoeless group stumbling through the campground, tripping over a flower bed and ultimately driving an SUV into a nearby ditch.
Concerned family campers contacted the authorities who promptly arrested all three at the scene.
During the investigation, the group admitted to taking the psychoactive drug, which is classified as a narcotic.
It was revealed that Mr. A had smuggled LSD into the country during a previous trip abroad and had distributed it to his companions, Mr. B and Mr. C.
The campground management determined that the group’s erratic behavior was not caused by alcohol intoxication and alerted the police to the situation.
