LOS ANGELES, Oct. 10 (Korea Bizwire) – Two Bit Circus founders Brent Bushnell and Eric Gradman have been awarded a POPULAR MECHANICS’ Breakthrough Innovator Award. These two men want to overhaul how we teach kids the essential subjects of science, math and engineering – all disciplines children have struggled with mightily in this country for nearly a generation.
Popular Mechanics recently announced the winners of its tenth annual Breakthrough Awards, which recognize the innovators, engineers and scientists responsible for changing our world. With 14 honorees, Brent and Eric, were recognized in the November issue of Popular Mechanics, available on newsstands October 14, and also celebrated at an awards ceremony in New York City.
Two Bit Circus was honored for creating the world’s most ambitious education carnival, STEAM Carnival (STEAM is the acronym for science, technology, engineering, art, and math). Robots, interactive experiences, contests, prizes, and games fill kids’ heads with essential information they never knew they wanted to know.
“STEAM adds Art to the popular STEM acronym used by policy makers and educators,” said Brent Bushnell, CEO, Two Bit Circus. “With the STEAM Carnival we’re appealing to kids’ interest in artistic fields like music, fashion, and games, to create new pathways to STEM learning and activate different types of learners. Once interested, natural connections to math and science can be made.”
More information on this year’s honorees can be found on the Popular Mechanics website here.
