The Daegu Metropolitan City, hometown of Korean fried chicken, is now staging a “2014 Daegu Chimac Festival” from July 16 to 20 at Duryu Park within the city to offer flavor of the all-time Korean favorite combination of chicken and beer. Besides, it plans to inform the history of Korean chicken originated from the city with opening of booths.
Along with the festivity, the city will prepare counseling booths for chicken franchise start-ups and organize the meeting places for the chicken and beer-related industry players.
An official at the Daegu city government said, “Following the last year’s festival, our chimac festival will be held second time this year. We hope the chicken-and-beer festival could become one of the world’s famous fiestas representing Korea through continuous development and active participation.”
