SEOUL, Oct. 24 (Korea Bizwire)YG Entertainment, one of Korea’s top three talent agencies, is expanding its business portfolio into cosmetics just after a month of its launch of a fashion brand.

On October 22, YG Entertainment opened its flagship store of cosmetics brand “Moonshot” in Samcheong-dong in northern Seoul, which is famous for numerous small art galleries, upscale shops and restaurants. Built with a concept of “weird but exceptional world,” the three-story store catches the eye of passers-by with marble exterior and its hologram-like windows.

The shop sells 208 kinds of cosmetics products including basics, makeup base and point makeups. All the products can be tested before purchasing at the store. Unlike any other road shops, all the employees in the shop are make-up artists and they offer differentiated services with customized counseling.

Targeting trendy young women, Moonshot focuses on the maximization of characteristics of each customer rather than just making beauty. YG will position the brand as a communication channel with beauty industry people in and outside Korea.

The brand name “Moonshot” came from man’s first landing on the Moon in 1969. It holds the meaning of breaking away from the norm of the cosmetic world, and taking on new challenges with unique color tones of cosmetics products. YG partnered with COSON, a Korean beauty and health products provider, and prepared its launching for a year. YG is responsible for the branding while COSON is in charge of R&D and production.

Meanwhile, Park Jae-bum, a famous entertainer musician, who was selected as the brand model of Moonshot, appeared in the November edition of fashion magazine Elle with full makeup with Moonshot cosmetics.

His black and smoky eyes make viewers to think of deep dark night sky and the makeup look with sharp color matches added the chic and sexy appearance of Park.
