SEOUL, Nov. 16 (Korea Bizwire) — Local carrier Asiana Airlines said Thursday it will begin a hybrid beacon service to guide its passengers from the moment of arrival at the airport to final boarding.
The service will be available to those who purchase tickets through the company’s mobile app and accept the terms of use for the service. Messages will be sent to passengers’ smartphones telling them which check-in counters they can use and where they can use self check-in for baggage.
Once near the counter, the passengers will be notified of items prohibited for carry-on luggage. Their smartphones will automatically show their e-tickets when they reach security checkpoints.
“Customers will be able to receive information at appropriate moments depending on their processing route. We will continue to apply new technology for customer satisfaction,” an Asiana official said.
