ULSAN, Dec. 12 (Korea Bizwire) — Photos of a luxury meal served at a high school in Ulsan consisting of mini lobster that are worth at least 10,000 won alone have gone viral.
Students at Seine High School in Ulsan enjoyed a surprise lunch consisting of shrimp fried rice, a mango salad, udon noodles, lobster and juice.
Each regular meal served at the high school is priced at 4,300 won, with the local education office paying 1,500 won for every student while students themselves cover the rest.
However, the school paid an additional 5,000 won for each student out of its own coffers for the special occasion.
The Ulsan Metropolitan Office of Education has in the past awarded the school for providing great meals.
“Lobster is not what I expected. I’m pleasantly surprised I had lobster as part of a school meal,” one student said in excitement.
“By providing a nice meal for students, we wanted to show that the school always cares about them, which is a form of humanistic education,” said Principal Seo Hwi-su.
