SEOUL, Dec. 15 (Korea Bizwire) — Kia Motors Corp. said Friday the motor of its first high performance Stinger has made WardsAuto’s 10 Best Engines list.
The Stinger’s 3.3-liter twin-turbo V6 Lambda II engine proved its power delivery, responsiveness and refinement to be among the best engines selected by WardsAuto, Kia Motors said in a statement.
“This latest honor from WardsAuto reconfirms the Kia Stinger’s gran turismo credentials, which are the result of the superb work of our global engineering and performance development teams,” Orth Hedrick, vice president product planning at Kia Motors America, said in the statement.
Kia’s Stinger with 365 horsepower can do zero to 100 kilometers per hour in 4.7 seconds, quicker than the 3.0-liter six-cylinder Porsche Panamera, the company said.
All vehicles on the list must be priced under $63,000. The Stinger model carries a price tag of $38,350, it said.
With the latest addition, Hyundai Motor Group, which includes Kia, has had a total of eight entries on the 10 best engine lists since 2009. The engines include the Tau 4.6MPI, Tau 5.0GDI, Gamma 1.6GDI and Kappa 1.4T-GDI, the company said.
