SEOUL, March 25 (Korea Bizwire) — The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Tourism Organization announced Wednesday the launch of the first shopping and tourism service in Dongseongno Street in Daegu, about 300 kilometers southeast of Seoul, that uses smart technology.
Tourists visiting Dongseongno Street, Daegu’s most popular shopping district, can access the service platform via a smartphone to gain information on nearby restaurants, shops, and tourist hotspots.
The platform also offers virtual reality (VR) content, allowing users to look around a store’s interior virtually.
At a local tourist information center, visitors can make use of an augmented reality (AR) booth to try on clothes and accessories virtually.
The government plans to expand smart shopping and tourism services in Daegu and South Jeolla Province.
